Delaware Power Platform Challenge

My experience participating in the Delaware Power Platform Challenge 2025

Delaware Power Platform Challenge

Before the Challenge

Our day at Delaware in Gent kicked off with a relaxed vibe as we gathered for the Power Platform challenge. Unlike last time, there were no personalized stickers waiting for us — just a simple check-in, some light snacks, and friendly faces as we waited for everyone to arrive and the event to get underway.

The Challenge

Once everyone settled in, we were split into teams of four, blending students like myself with Power Platform experts. It was a familiar setup, and I was pleasantly surprised to spot a familiar face — one of my teammates from the Salesforce challenge I had previously won! This time, the mission was different: we had to build a canvas app to allow users to book flights. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, with less than an hour on the clock and a rocky start figuring out where to even begin, the pressure was definitely on. Despite the initial chaos, our team pulled together. Piece by piece, we managed to create a working MVP — a functional app that allowed flight bookings! It wasn't flashy, but it worked, and after all the hurdles, we were proud of what we accomplished in such a short time.

The Result

After the sprint, each team showcased their app to the judges. While our project was solid, we sadly didn't snag the win this time. Still, the experience was incredibly rewarding. Reconnecting with a past teammate made it even better — it felt like a small full-circle moment, and we cheered each other on just like old times.

Conclusion

Even without the win, this challenge was a fantastic experience. I got hands-on with Power Platform, tackled real-world problems under time pressure, and shared the journey with a great team. It reminded me why I love these kinds of events so much — the learning, the connections, and the fun along the way. I'm already looking forward to the next one!
