Delaware SalesForce Challenge
My experience participating in the Delaware Salesforce Challenge 2024
Before the Challenge
Our arrival at Delaware Gent kicked off with a warm welcome from the Delaware team, who handed out stickers bearing our names. We munched on healthy snacks and sipped drinks at the reception, mingling while waiting for everyone to gather and kick off the challenge.
The Challenge
We were grouped into teams of four, a mix of students like myself and seasoned Salesforce experts, ready to tackle the task at hand. Our mission? Create an Einstein chatbot within Salesforce to enhance the customer service experience for SpiceX, our fictional space travel company. It sounded daunting, especially since two of us, including me, were complete Salesforce novices, and even our experts weren't well-versed in chatbots. To add to the pressure, we had a mere hour to pull it off. Despite a slow start, we eventually cracked the code, setting up the chatbot surprisingly smoothly. Against all odds, we not only completed the chatbot but also added some extra bells and whistles.
The Result
Following our frantic hour of development, each group had to pitch their bot to the jury in hopes of clinching the top spot. Luckily, our team boasted a member skilled in the art of pitching, delivering a stellar presentation for our project. After all the pitches were done, we had a brief intermission while the jury deliberated. To our astonishment, our group emerged victorious! Our chatbot was deemed the best of the bunch. We were over the moon (pun intended), considering none of us had a clue where to even begin, and we stumbled through the initial stages. As a reward, each of us received a €300 voucher for Coolblue, along with some extra goodies.
Conclusion
Participating in this challenge was an eye-opening experience. I dove headfirst into the world of Salesforce and chatbots, rubbing shoulders with some truly amazing people along the way. Winning the challenge was the cherry on top, making the whole adventure even sweeter. Count me in for future challenges—I'm eager to soak up more knowledge and continue growing from these experiences.
